Hiring: Electrical Estimator for Ships and Offshore Platforms

Job Description
- Preparation of price proposals based on available documentation and client-specified criteria
- Preparation of cost estimates for labor and materials related to shipyard and offshore electrical works, covering both new builds and existing vessels
- Calculation of costs of labor, materials, equipment, and outsourced services,
- Analysis of documents related to Requests for Quotation (RFQs), identification of potential issues, and obtaining necessary information from the client (e.g., electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable layouts, cable list)
- Development and updating of project budgets
- Identification of technical and cost-related risks within projects
- Sourcing competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to secure the most favorable final offer
- Close collaboration with the Design, Sales, Logistics, Procurement, and Project Ex*****on departments
- Participation in technical meetings with clients (often conducted in English)
- Participation in site visits/inspections (as required—e.g., on vessels located in ports or shipyards)

Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the maritime, offshore, shipbuilding, or industrial construction sectors
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Experience working with tender documentation
- Advanced English language
- Advanced Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in AutoCAD - Ability to read technical and electrical documentation
- Excellent work organization and ability to work independently
- Ability to work under time pressure (offer deadlines)
- Analytical thinking skills and the ability to draw conclusions
- Strong communication skills (interacting with clients and suppliers)
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips, should the need arise

This is NEW to Mareleng, but anyone attending Seatrade this year probably thought the same thing. BEST BOOTH of the Week! We brought the MS Mareleng and it wasn't even close. FINCANTIERI really set the bar high this year. Looked like a set from a Michael Bay Movie! Curves on a LED Screen was a brilliant choice. The Gauntlet has been dropped!! Looking forward to seeing the contenders next year! We are definately upping our game in 2027!
