Working with irrigation districts provides our staff unique field work opportunities. This is one of our more remote locations at over 10K feet in the mountains west of Fort Collins. We work to locate and evaluate ditch infrastructure when the water "turns off" for the winter which is usually mid-October.

The Oak Street Stormwater Improvements Project (OSSP)is moving along! Tunneling on the downtown section began in the early parts of September. The tunneling process will install approximately 500 feet of 78" Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer Mortar (FRPM) Pipe underneath a congested urban street. This allows the OSSP system to connect to an existing stormwater system already in place in downtown Fort Collins.

ACE Staff routinely perform irrigation system inventories. We assess irrigation systems both during the irrigation season while water is running and after the water turns off in October. The "wet" inventory is used to determine not only seepage locations in the canal but also to inspect the conveyance structures operational efficiencies. This footage was taken while inspecting a series of drop structures used to convey water while reducing the gradient, thereby reducing the erosive power of water in the ditch.
