On September 30, public officials and project partners gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the SR-38/Stanfield Cutoff Roundabout project. As the design firm for this new multimodal roundabout, we're especially proud of our collaboration with local stakeholders to incorporate special considerations for critical facilities and businesses nearby. Through community-focused meetings and outreach, a detailed design that integrated pedestrian and bicycle facilities was used to ensure safety, mobility, and efficient access for all users in the area.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to San Bernardino County for the opportunity to design this important development. We also want to congratulate Caltrans District 8, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority - SBCTA, City of Big Bear Lake, U.S. Forest Service, Bear Valley Unified School District, and all other project partners. We are honored to continue delivering necessary infrastructure that improves access, safety, and mobility for the communities we serve.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 8th Annual APWA Sacramento Chapter Music Festival, Amplify Public Works!

With nine incredible bands featuring public works professionals and a community united in support of a great cause, this year's event once again showcased the talent, dedication, and spirit of the public works profession while raising funds for the APWA Sacramento Chapter Education Endowment Fund.

A huge thank you to our attendees, volunteers, performers, sponsors, and community partners for making this event such a success. We are proud to help bring our public works community together through music, education, and service.

is honored to have received the Outstanding Bikeways & Trails Project award at the annual Sacramento Section Awards Banquet!

In partnership with the City of Chico, this recognition celebrates the SR-99 Corridor Bikeway Facility Project, a major investment in safer, more connected transportation for the community. As a part of Phase 5, this project delivered a functional and aesthetic gateway that was constructed over East 20th Street, providing a safe route and a connector for pedestrians and cyclists. This was a collaborative effort between our transportation, environmental, water resources, and right of way teams to provide solutions for the City.

This is one of the many projects that Dokken is proud to be a part of and reflects our commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication our engineers and technical staff put into our projects every day.

APWA Music Festival is happening this Saturday at Dokken Engineering! 🎶Where public works and community come together.

Join us for a FREE, family-friendly music festival featuring nine bands, food, drinks, and a Kid Zone packed with fun for all ages. Best of all, every dollar raised supports student scholarships through the Education Endowment Fund.

On September 14, public officials and project partners gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dog Bar Road Bridge over the Bear River project. It officially opening a safer, wider, and more resilient connection between Nevada and Placer Counties.

As the design engineer for this project, we're especially proud to have helped transform a 1934 one-lane crossing into a modern two-lane bridge with improved roadway approaches and pedestrian access. We are also honored that this public works project was selected as the 2026 APWA Sacramento Chapter Project of the Year in Transportation.

Congratulations to Nevada County, Viking Construction, HDR Construction Group, Caltrans, and all project partners on bringing this important improvement to completion. Delivering infrastructure that improves safety, mobility, and emergency access for the communities we serve is exactly why we do what we do.
