Attention all U-Pick-It Customers!
Early in the spring we had a unique opportunity to host the next class of Coconino Fire Academy accompanied and taught by Flagstaff, Highlands, Pinewood and Summit Fire departments. Together they trained on vehicle accident response and recovery with hand and hydraulic equipment used in various situations, implementing different circumstances of how to create safety for patient recovery.
It's been a win-win for us, as we saw firsthand how priorities are made to assure patient safety and security. Not only do we get another opportunity to see cars chopped in half before we send them to Upickit Prescott Valley, we create a precedent of awareness that should always be implemented when vehicles are without power, have unknown fluids, or loss to other important functions.
We're excited to see what the future brings, as this has brought us closer to northern Arizona and how we support our first responders. Later on in the fall we may have more accommodations for the trainees, but until then folks be safe picking parts so no trainings like we replicated have to be used!
