WHERE YOU'LL WORK

We have five elevators: Flagler, Arriba, Genoa, Hugo, and Limon. We are willing to hire personnel to work out of any location and shift them around as necessary.



YOUR DAY

As a Grain Elevator Operator, you manage the operations of the grain facility to optimize market share and enhance customer satisfaction. Your day begins with overseeing cleaning processes to maintain a professional appearance. You load and unload trucks, meticulously record inspections, and monitor temperature readings for quality control. Prioritizing customer service, you assist clients while balancing equipment maintenance and safety protocols, all within a collaborative team environment. Every task, from grading incoming grain to preparing railcars, supports the efficiency and reputation of Flagler Cooperative.



REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME OUR GRAIN ELEVATOR OPERATOR

No prior training or experience necessary!
Problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to accurately perform money, weight, measurement, volume, and distance calculations
Ability to carry out written and oral instructions
Ability to work well with others
Ability to utilize distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and work through interruptions
Ability to work in an environment where you may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noisy equipment, extreme temperatures, fumes, wetness/humidity, and chemicals
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work out of the following locations: Flagler, Arriba, Genoa, Hugo, or Limon when needed

Our team at Flagler Cooperative Association is looking for a driven Feed Mill Attendant who's up for a challenge and ready to try their best! We're hiring a hands-on problem solver to join our Flagler, CO team in a full- or part-time position. If you prioritize accuracy, organization, and efficiency, keep reading to learn more! FEED MILL ATTENDANT HIGHLIGHTS: This entry-level role works under our feed mill manager, tackling various responsibilities to help improve our co-op's daily efficiency, meet our goals, optimize our market share, and provide incredible customer service. You'll need an eye for detail as you manage our feed product inventory, accurately prepare ingredients for the next mix, and ensure compliance with animal health and food safety preventative controls. Every day, you'll attend production meetings and coordinate schedules/activities with management. Then you'll get to work performing tasks like cleaning/organizing the feed mill, toting out finished feed bags, loading delivery trucks/customer vehicles with ordered products, and more. As you work, you'll promptly notify your manager about equipment maintenance and inventory needs. You'll check forklift oil levels, record your findings, and make sure all equipment is properly serviced and maintained. If you need to work on equipment or enter a restricted area (i.e., grain bins and confined spaces), you'll fill out the proper permits. No matter what you're doing, you'll make sure to wear PPE, follow all health and safety regulations, and maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor. Performing additional duties as assigned, you'll contribute to continual improvements and help us keep growing within the industry!
Feed Mill Attendant Requirements: • Willingness to work half-days on every other Saturday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm • Math skills for measuring weight, counting money, calculating distance/volume, and performing other calculations • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and work through interruptions • Ability to lift 50 pounds • Ability to use computers and differentiate between color-coded products • Ability to work in an environment where you may be exposed to wetness/humidity, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noisy equipment • Strong problem-solving skills • Solid communication and interpersonal skills • Organizational skills and attention to detail
