We are proud to announce the sale of SRT Racing Transmissions to Kyle Hancock of Lerna, IL.
Over the next several weeks, Wayne will be working closely with Kyle, providing hands-on training in the building and repair of Powerglide, Turbo 400, and Turbo 350 racing transmissions. We believe Kyle is the perfect person to carry forward what we have built at SRT, continuing to deliver the same quality and trusted workmanship our customers have come to expect.
For the time being, operations will continue at our Findlay location during the training period. Later this fall (October–November), the business will transition to Kyle’s new shop in Lerna, IL, where he will reopen as Signature Racing Transmission, while continuing to carry the trusted SRT branding on its products.
We are grateful for the many years of support from our loyal customers and encourage you to continue placing your trust in the SRT name as Kyle takes the wheel. We will also remain available to provide technical support to Kyle through 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

We are offering our complete SRT business for sale, which includes our full inventory of parts, equipment, tools, customer referrals, and hands-on training and technical support for building Powerglide transmissions and their components for racing applications.
There is flexibility in the purchase price depending on the amount of inventory and equipment the buyer wishes to include, as well as the level of training and support desired.

If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact me to discuss the details further. The business will continue to operate until a buyer is secured or until a future date—yet to be determined—at which point we will close and liquidate if no sale has been made.

For the past twelve years, it has been our pleasure to serve the drag racing community with our racing transmission products. However, as life becomes busier with grandchildren and other family commitments, we've decided that now is the right time to close this chapter and focus more on our home and loved ones.

We will continue operations for a little while longer as we explore options for a potential buyer.

We are deeply grateful for the support and loyalty you've shown us throughout this journey—it has truly meant the world to us.

SRT is announcing a change to our business model to allow us more time to spend with our family, grandchildren and allow me to get my nostalgia cars out to the track. Beginning sometime this spring or summer we will stop selling new builds using powerglide OEM cases and OEM planetary gears. Building with these OEM parts adds hours of clean and prep time to the process that we just don’t have the time to spare if we want to have work and life balance. We do, however, still have some OEM cases and planetary gears in stock that we will need to use, so we will still offer those OEM builds until those parts are depleted. We will still build our own pro and standard brakes in house and will continue to build SFI aftermarket competition Powerglides, and continue to provide freshen up and repair services to Powerglide racing transmissions. Along with this change, we will no longer be working on Turbo 400s and Turbo 350s. We want to thank all of our customers, both past and future, for your support and trust in us.
