Loving a dirt track racer....(copied this post because it's SO worth sharing!)
• If he tells you he didn’t answer your phone call because he was in the shop working on the car, he was in the shop working on the car.
•If he’s on his phone while you two are together, he’s probably watching racing videos. Don’t get upset, he gets really excited when last night’s WoO replay gets uploaded.
• He probably can’t go to that concert that starts at 7pm next Saturday, unless it’s winter and there’s no work to be done on the racecar.
• He knows a lot of people. And they will become part of your family.
• All of his money will be spent on parts.
• He will tell you who people are by the car they drive...”he drives the white number 67”
• He is extremely competitive. Wanna go ride go karts? Prepare for some pre-race smack talk & you’re probably gonna get fed a RR.
• He might introduce you as his “crew chief” instead of his girlfriend. Trust me....this is a compliment.
• You don’t “Netflix & chill”, you YouTube DirtVision.
• Instead of your picture in his wallet, he has a victory lane photo of his entire racing family.
• He goes postal when he has to sit in a traffic jam for more than five minutes, but when the stock car feature runs long he can spend five years in the staging lanes after he’s ratcheted his belts tight.
• He will save broken car parts as trophies. You’ll see bent sprint car wing panels and late model door panels on his shop wall constantly.
• He might not remember your birthday, but he knows exactly where he finished for every race he’s ever been to.
• You will become a 24/7 crew member, to “hold this”, “hand me that”, “measure the stagger”, “put my helmet on the fan.”
• His wardrobe consists of shirts and hoodies from literally every other driver in existence. He thinks it’s cute when you wear them.
• You will get mud in your hair and dirt in your eyes, but it’s okay because so will everyone else.
• Dressing up to him up means putting on clean jeans & a t-shirt without grease stains.
• Learn how to back him onto the trailer....this could make or break your relationship.
• And the best part....He will love you more than anyone could!
