A thrown track usually is not random. Common contributors include incorrect track tension, packed debris, sharp counter-rotation, side-loading, and worn undercarriage components.
šŖšµš®š šš®ššš²š šš?
ā¢ š§š¼š¼ š¹š¼š¼šš²: Excess slack increases the risk of lug damage and derailment.
ā¢ š§š¼š¼ šš¶š“šµš: Excess tension accelerates wear on the track, rollers, sprockets, idlers, and drive system.
ā¢ š£š®š°šøš²š± š±š²šÆšæš¶š: Mud, clay, sand, and gravel can interfere with proper track movement.
ā¢ š¦šµš®šæš½ šššæš»š: Counter-rotating on hard or rocky ground places additional stress on the undercarriage.
ā¢ š¦š¶š±š²-š¹š¼š®š±š¶š»š“: Working across slopes or along uneven transitions can push the track out of alignment.
ā¢ šŖš¼šæš» š½š®šæšš: Damaged rollers, idlers, sprockets, or track lugs can allow repeated derailment.
šš¼š š§š¼ š„š²š±šš°š² š§šµš² š„š¶ššø:
1. Inspect and clean the undercarriage daily, and more often in packed mud or abrasive material.
2. Measure track tension using the exact procedure and specification in the operator's manual.
3. Use gradual or three-point turns whenever space allows.
4. Travel up and down slopes instead of across them when conditions permit.
5. Cross curbs and sharp transitions at 90 degrees so both tracks remain supported.
6. Inspect the complete undercarriage if the same track repeatedly comes off.
šš¼ššš¼šŗ šš¶š»š²: Reinstalling or replacing the track without correcting the cause may only set up the next derailment.
