We're excited to share a new Heartland Dental location along Jacaranda Boulevard in Venice, Florida!

Our team at APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC provided architectural design, structural and MEP engineering, permitting, and construction administration for the building shell and tenant interior.

The site's long, narrow footprint called for a different approach to Heartland Dental's typically square-shaped prototype. Our team adapted the layout to accommodate all 12 patient rooms while keeping the spaces for doctors and hygienists centrally located. This helped minimize major design changes while maintaining consistency with the standard prototype.

It's great to see all the hard work come together! Congratulations to Heartland Dental and developer CASTO on the new location, and a big thank-you to general contractor Stultz Inc. for helping bring it to life! 👏

A little trip down memory lane! 📸

We've been working alongside ALDI USA since 1996 and serving as their National Prototype Architect since 2008. Needless to say, we've seen quite a few changes over the years!

From smaller store formats to larger, more modern layouts, our team has helped develop and refine the ALDI prototype designs, incorporating changing operational needs while maintaining consistency across locations.

We're grateful for the trust ALDI has placed in our team over the years and the opportunity to be part of their continued growth.

Our team recently attended an AIA Hilti Seminar & Anchor Demo, where they got to see how fastening systems work with steel and put Hilti's tools to the test themselves.

There's always more to learn in our industry, and it's great to have opportunities like these to see how these systems work firsthand.

A big thank you to Hilti for sharing their knowledge and making this such an engaging experience!

Every site brings its own considerations to a familiar design.

For Country Fair’s new ground-up store in Youngsville, PA, our team designed the building to maintain the brand’s recognizable barn-inspired character and signature gambrel roof.

The challenge was bringing Country Fair’s signature roof design to this site without the added height of a traditional gambrel roof. The building’s angled layout also called for careful coordination of the roof tie-ins and cathedral ceiling, while the long-span trusses required thoughtful planning for both design and delivery.

The project is currently under construction, and we’re excited to see it take shape! We appreciate Construction Services of Pennsylvania, LLC. and their work on the new store.

We’re excited to celebrate Ken Rea, PE on his election as President of the Board of Directors for the Hickok Center for Brain Injury! 🎉

Serving the Rochester area since 1989, the Hickok Center supports individuals with brain injuries and other neurological challenges, providing programs and opportunities that help participants work toward their individual goals and lead more independent, connected lives.

Ken was invited to join the Board by the outgoing president, who will remain on the Board as Ken steps into his new role. Having previously served as President of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE), Monroe Chapter, Ken looks forward to bringing that experience to a great group of fellow board members and to being part of the meaningful work the Hickok Center is doing in our community.

Congratulations, Ken! We’re proud to see you take on this new opportunity and wish you all the best as you begin your term as President. 👏

A familiar local favorite has a new home in Victor, NY. 🍦

Yolickity - Victor recently opened its third Rochester-area location at Victor Crossing, and APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC is grateful to have played a part in bringing this Yolickity location to the community!

Our Architectural and MEP teams provided the design for the 1,662-SF tenant fit-out, adapting Yolickity's established concept to fit the former GameStop space. We worked through the details of the new space, from the floor plan and equipment layout to utilities, accessibility, food-service requirements, and permitting. The location also features a new outdoor patio with seating, extending the experience beyond the storefront.

We're always proud to work with local businesses right here in the Rochester area and help bring new spaces and experiences to our communities.

A big thank you to Suplex Construction and everyone who helped bring this location to life. Congratulations to the Yolickity team on the opening! 🎉
