This one goes after a popular belief in the engine world:
that a pour-in bottle of zinc or some other β€œmiracle” additive can turn the wrong oil into the right oil. βš™οΈ

My position is simple:
Additives are not the problem. Good oil already contains additives as part of a balanced formula. The real mistake is thinking you can outsmart that formula by dumping something else in afterward. πŸ§ͺ

I also get into:

πŸ”§ why break-in oil is its own special case
πŸš› why diesel oil, including Rotella 15W-40, is not the same shortcut it once was
