Another busy week at Maheu Racing Enterprises! 🔥

We’ve got a couple of awesome projects in the shop right now.

🔧 1978 Toyota Pickup
This classic Toyota is getting a complete floorboard replacement to take care of years of rust. While it’s here, we’re also converting it from an automatic to a 5-speed manual, along with putting together a fresh 22R engine to power it. It’s going to be a completely different truck when it leaves the shop.

🏁 Pontiac Vibe GT Race Car
This Vibe GT is in for a head gasket replacement. Looking forward to getting this one buttoned up and back where it belongs—on the track chasing checkered flags! 🏁

Freshly rebuilt 2.7L Toyota engine and transmission ready to go back into this 2007 Tacoma. Overbored .040”, new pistons, Hastings rings, bearings, new valves, competition valve job, timing set, oil pump, balance shaft delete, plus a complete transmission rebuild with new bearings, seals, and synchros.

Let’s get this Tacoma out of the shop and back on the road by Friday June 5th. 🔥💪🔧

A look inside a Toyota R155F 5-speed transmission.

With over 300,000 miles of service behind it, this transmission was torn down for a complete refresh before problems had a chance to develop.

New bearings, synchros, seals, thorough inspection, and careful reassembly.

Not every rebuild starts with a failure. Sometimes the smartest repair is the one you make before you’re stuck on the side of the road.

2007 Toyota Tacoma R155F 5-speed transmission in the shop for a full teardown, inspection, and rebuild for a street truck.

This transmission is getting completely gone through with all new bearings and synchronizers installed to help bring back smooth shifting and long-term reliability. Every gear, shaft, and component gets carefully inspected during the rebuild process to make sure everything is right before final assembly.

A clean, properly rebuilt manual transmission makes a huge difference in how a truck drives, especially on higher mileage Tacomas.

We just put the first 20 minutes on this 22RE engine and it sounds nice and healthy!!! Almost ready for its maiden voyage back to New York this weekend!!
