There's something to be said for a CEO who'll spend a rainy day in the field with his team.

Earlier this month, Peter Beardsley, PE, joined Janine Way, EIT, in the field to collect closure samples at a former thermal soil treatment site 𝙉𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃 first sampled in 2016. Over nearly a decade, the project has moved from characterization to excavating the remaining hot spots to treating the soil in an on-site land farm. These samples are one of the last steps toward closure!

Having leadership that shows up for the hard days, and not just the milestones, keeps the whole team closer to the work, and that's how 𝙉𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃 plans to keep operating.💪

Collecting marine sediment samples to support upcoming development in Southeast Alaska called for more than our standard equipment!🤿

𝙉𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃 teamed with Deepsea Diving Solutions LLC, whose certified diver retrieved samples from roughly 20 feet below the surface. Diver collection avoids the repeated deployments that grab and core samplers often need to recover enough material. The boat was kept off anchor to leave the seafloor undisturbed, and field staff documented coordinates, tidal conditions, and sample depths throughout.

Working alongside local specialists makes it possible to design fieldwork around the site and our team is ready to keep building those partnerships as development in the region moves forward!

It was great catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones at the Alaska Oil and Gas Association Annual Conference! A real highlight was hearing HEX CEO John Hendrix announce the company's new partnership with Tyonek Native Corporation, bringing oil and gas development to 5,000 acres of Tyonek lands.

It's always exciting to see our clients share major project milestones with the industry, and we're looking forward to seeing what's next for this project. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth! AOGA never disappoints, and we're already looking forward to next year!🌿

Environmental contamination has troubled Whittier for decades, and the Buckner Building is only one part of a much larger picture. Last week's community meeting was proof of the progress the Brownfields program has made, and how important this work is to the community!

𝙉𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃's Haley Michael, PE, and the City of Whittier,'s Shelby Carlson presented to the public on how the program came together, the progress made so far, and why continued community participation matters going forward. Residents had the chance to ask questions, share their own experiences, and learn more about the contamination still active in Whittier today, not just at the three priority sites, but anywhere throughout the city they had questions or concerns about.

Progress on an effort this substantial doesn't happen overnight. Real change takes a community willing to show up, and Whittier did.

When the project site doesn't have road access, we find another way!🚁 Our Juneau staff adventured into remote Southeast Alaska to collect water samples, all part of keeping local waterways clean and monitored.
