Assembles and wires machines, equipment, and their sub-assemblies following engineering drawings and schematics as well as other written and verbal specifications.
Responsibilities of the Machine Assembler include:
• Responsible for performing tasks associated within the wide scope of mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and guarding of machines with minimal or no Supervision.
• Interprets and follows instructions on project specifications, mechanical, and electrical drawings and schematics, and processes. Ability to mentor the Production Tech 1 in blueprint and schematic interpretation.
• Proficient in the proper and safe use of hand and power tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, wrenches, cordless drill, corded drill, belt sander, and precision measuring tools (scale, tape measure, micrometer, calipers, etc.)
• Helps the Manufacturing Manager and Production Leads develop or revise standard operational and working practices.
• Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.

• Confers with Manufacturing Manager and Production Leads to coordinate activities in individual areas.
• Recommends adjustments to work procedures in order to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Utilizes and has the ability to mentor the Production Tech 1 in the Companies’ ERP system and Intranet to track and verify part availability. Demonstrates an understanding of parts lists and corresponding item numbers. Initiates corrective actions via the Engineering or Materials Department.
• Demonstrates the potential or ability to use fabricating and machining equipment at a beginner’s level and the desire to increase his/her skill level in other areas of the business (TIG welding, minor Machine Shop tasks, sheet metal fabrication, rail building)
• May assist the Production Lead during start-up and testing of a machine
• Applies the ability to document, compile, and retrieve production data.
Additional duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or Production Lead
Requirements for Machine Assembler include:
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 12-18 months experience of related work experience
• Have average mechanical acuity and dexterity and demonstrate the ability to properly fit and assemble precision components using common hand tools.
