Exciting news for S**G Power Equipment!

PRESS RELEASE: S**g’s Parent Company Expands Manufacturing Footprint

Mayville, Wis. – The parent company of S**g Power Equipment, Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc., is pleased to announce the acquisition of Robbins Manufacturing, Inc., located in Fall River, WI, effective August 23, 2021.

The company’s foundational belief that “Employees Make the Difference” remains evident, as Metalcraft will retain all of the more than 200 existing employees at the Fall River location. Metalcraft has plans to double the headcount there over time. Additionally, this acquisition does not impact the employment status for anyone in Metalcraft’s other facilities. The company will continue its hiring and growth strategies at all facilities as recently communicated to its work groups.

According to company management, this new location offers Metalcraft a strong, complementary workforce in a plant that is very similar and in close proximity to the company’s existing operations. The former Robbins facility provides additional needed capacity to support Metalcraft’s continued growth. In addition, the capabilities and processes gained through this acquisition will allow for further expansion of the company’s product offerings
under its industry leading S**g Power Equipment and Versatran truck brands.

Metalcraft plans to immediately move some of its existing work into the Fall River plant, as well as invest in upgrading the facility. Doing so will not only benefit all Metalcraft employees, but also existing internal brands, external customers and the list of highly valued new customers inherited through the transaction.

Continuing a tradition starting in 2012, S**g Power Equipment and Highway 80 Auto of Russell Springs, KY is once again honored to partner with the Kentucky State Police in providing Trooper Island Camp, a S**G Turf Tiger II to use in maintaining the grounds on Trooper Island in 2021!
Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls age 10-12 operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations; no public funds are used.
Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children, providing good food, fresh air, recreation, guidance and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers. The camp is for youth ages 10 to 12 years of age who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend summer camp.
Camp Commander Trooper First Class Jonathan Biven says the camp is designed to give youth a camping experience that will impact them for years to come.
“Often when these children arrive at camp they are burdened with life’s struggles,” says Biven. “We provide a get-away for them where they experience unique activities that develop confidence, trust and creating memories that last a lifetime.”

S**g and Don Franklin Family Auto Group of Campbellsville, KY are proud to provide a brand new S**g Turf Tiger II to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Farm, Home Safety Program to be used for safety training in their program across the Commonwealth in 2021.
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture Farm and Home Safety Program works closely with large property owners, commercial users and emergency responders throughout the Commonwealth to promote farm safety and provide training for incidents that are unique to agriculture.
The KDA’s Farm & Home Safety Program reaches some 1.5 million people a year at schools, civic clubs, and major events such as the National Farm Machinery Show and the Kentucky State Fair. In addition to lawnmower safety the program utilizes a rollover tractor simulator, which demonstrates the correct use of a rollover protective structure (ROPS) and seat belt to protect a tractor operator if the tractor turns over; a miniature grain bin and wagon, which illustrate the danger of being trapped by grain; and ATV, anhydrous ammonia tank, and PTO displays. Dale Dobson of LaRue County, the KDA’s Farm and Home Safety Program administrator, started the program and brought it to the department in 1998.

MWE Territory Managers Tom Aull & Jesse Smith were invited by The Kentucky Department of Parks own Rebecca Burton- Safety Administrator and Drew Rapp - Safety & Training Branch Manager to help explain handheld equipment and mower maintenance, handheld equipment safe operation, and mower safe operation, at Dale Hollow State Park.

Attendees also participated in a "Mow Like a Pro" competition, where they were judged and scored on safe mower operation. The "pro" of the day was Johnny Davis of Burnside Island State Park!
