Good morning from Englund Marine and Industrial Supply in Newport. This is Greg King with your Friday Morning Fishing Report.
Fishing inshore on the reefs off Depoe Bay and Newport has been excellent. The rockfish and lingcod have really been biting good and limits of nice size fish have been coming back to the dock daily. The lingcod bite has really improved compared to what it was a month ago. This is the time of year the lingcod bite starts to get really good and should only get better as we get closer to winter. The predicted ocean wave and wind forecast inshore for the next week or so look good but not without a little mixed swell. Sunday it is questionable though. If you need to restock your gear bag before you go out and get a limit, stop by and see us at Englund Marine in Newport. We have a massive selection of rockfish and lingcod gear: from shrimp flies to feathers, jig heads, ang a huge selection of soft plastics. Englund Marine also carries a huge selection of Lancer jigs, these things work awesome and are absolutely deadly on lingcod. Stop in and see us, we will help you out and get you hooked up!
River salmon fishing on our local rivers remains fair. The bite still remains very sporadic. The Alsea, Siletz and Yaquina Rivers are all producing some nice coho and chinook. Bobber fishing or trolling are both producing, but the fishing is not red hot by any means. There are still fish moving into the rivers, and itβs still worth getting out and giving it a try.
Thanks for listening to the Newport Englund Marine and Industrial Supply Friday morning fishing report. This is Greg King. Good Fishing!
