Last week we lost a member of our family at Alecom when Cole Barker passed away unexpectedly. Cole had worked with us for 2 years and was a valued member of our team. We will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Cole.

Services for Cole Barker, 37, of Irving, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at New Testament Holiness Church with Bro. Mack Swain officiating.
Interment will follow in Shields Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Barker passed away July 8, 2020 in Irving. He was born May 15, 1983, in Tyler. Cole spent his early years in Hallsville and Lindale, fifteen years in Irving, and the past year in Wills Point. He worked for Alecom Metal in Dallas for about two years. Cole is preceded in death by his grandparents; Howard Barker, and Arlen & Manon Abernathy; aunt & uncle, Deana & Keith Abernathy and uncle Michael Barker.
Survivors include his parents; David Barker of Irving and Kathi Barker of Quinlan; grandmother, Helen Marett of Grand Saline; special friend, Lacey Shadden of Wills Point and her children; sister, Hallie Colquitt and Terrance of Irving; two nieces, Cierra Barker-Colquitt of Irving and Deija Barker-Colquitt of Irving; nephew, Jaxon Colquitt of Irving; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jaxon Colquitt, Cody Swain, Matt Duvall, Gavin Duvall, Collin Duvall and Noah Blackmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terrance Colquitt and Clay Duvall.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Well it was a long day today, but it was all worth it. Our new Trumpf 3040 Fiber laser with 6000 watt resonator delivered. This thing is a beast with an 80” x 160” table and the ability to cut up to 1” thick plate at blinding speeds.
Another week of set up and testing and it’ll be operational!!

Sometimes we meet some truly interesting people in this business. Lately we have had the pleasure of working with perhaps the finest whiskey distiller in Texas, Les Beasley of Whiskey Hollow. I've learned more about distilling whiskey in 30 minutes with Les than I could have attending distillery school! Les has also designed some really cool whiskey barrel stands made from hot rolled steel which Alecom laser cuts and Les welds together himself.
