Different missions. One engineering philosophy.

Every wildfire operation is different, which is why KMC MAX offers machines built to meet different operational needs while sharing the same purpose-built foundation.

The KMC MAX 100 is designed for vegetation management, fireline construction, and fuel reduction, giving crews a compact, capable platform for demanding terrain.

The KMC MAX 300 builds on that platform with a removable 10,000-litre water module, exceptional off-road capability, and the flexibility to transition between wildfire suppression and other emergency response roles throughout the year.

One commitment: building equipment that helps wildfire agencies and emergency response teams work safer, smarter, and more effectively when it matters most.

The first challenge isn't always fighting the fire. Sometimes it's getting there.

Steep slopes. Soft ground. Remote access. Uneven terrain.

Wildfire operations don't happen under ideal conditions, which is why traction, stability, and operator confidence matter just as much as horsepower.

The KMC MAX platform was engineered with independent suspension, low ground pressure, and a steel soft-track system designed to help crews access the places where the work needs to be done.

Because when every minute counts, getting there matters.

Meet the flagship of the KMC MAX lineup.

The KMC MAX 300 was developed for the challenges wildfire crews face every day.

Built on our steel soft-track platform, it combines exceptional traction, low ground pressure, a removable 10,000-litre water module, and the flexibility to support multiple missions from a single machine.

But the KMC MAX 300 isn't just about water delivery.

It's designed to help crews reach difficult terrain, build and maintain firelines, support ground personnel, and continue working long after wildfire season ends.

Because the best equipment doesn't stop when the season does.

The new KMC MAX website is now live.

After months of development, we're excited to introduce a new online home for KMC MAX.

Explore our lineup of purpose-built tracked machines, learn about the engineering behind our steel soft-track platform, and see how we're approaching not only forestry, but also wildfire suppression, fuel management, and emergency response with a year-round mindset.

Whether you're looking for wildfire equipment, vegetation management solutions, or a versatile tracked platform built for demanding terrain, we'd love to hear your thoughts.

Wildfires are changing. So should the equipment built to fight them.

Fire seasons are getting longer. Terrain is becoming more challenging. Crews are being asked to do more with fewer resources.

We believe the equipment supporting those crews should evolve too.
That's the thinking behind KMC MAX.

We're building tracked machines designed for wildfire suppression and vegetation management in an all-in-one machine for year-round operation because today's challenges demand more than yesterday's equipment.

This is just the beginning.

We'll be attending AFAC26 in Melbourne and look forward to connecting with wildfire agencies, emergency response professionals, and industry partners from around the world.

While we won't be exhibiting this year, we'll be sharing more about KMC MAX and our approach to building multi-purpose tracked machines designed for wildfire response, vegetation management, and year-round emergency operations.

If you're attending AFAC26, we'd love the opportunity to meet. Reach out to arrange a time while we're in Melbourne.

This incredible yet scary picture, taken just a few days ago, shows how challenging and brutal wildfires can be.

We thank Jarred Covey from SoftTrack for the picture showing one of their FMC soft-track wildfire machines working on the current fires in Utah and Colorado. SoftTrack has been using our machines for the last 20 years and currently operates a fleet of nine on the West Coast of North America.

KMC MAX is currently manufacturing the most powerful and advanced wildfire machine on the KMC MAX 300 platform, which is set to become the standard for extreme climate events.

To all firefighters, our deepest thank you for your work and dedication, and we are committed to helping you with the safest and best machines we can manufacture.

Team KMC MAX Global.

Built for war, proven in the toughest terrain.

The KMC Max platform traces its roots back to the legendary M113, a military vehicle engineered for extreme reliability in the harshest conditions.

Every detail matters.

As KMC MAX machines continue to take shape, every decision is being made through the eyes of the operator. From major components to the smallest design details, the focus is on building equipment that is simple, rugged, and ready for the toughest jobs.

Because the best machines are built one detail at a time.

Alex recently returned from Montana, visiting wildfire-fighting operations and seeing firsthand how these machines continue to perform in some of the toughest terrain and fire conditions.

The machines shown here are original FMC units, the platform that later evolved into the KMC Kootrac machines and now serves as the foundation for KMC MAX equipment. KMC MAX is building on that proven platform with updated manufacturing, modern systems, and continued focus on traction, durability, and extreme terrain performance. Seeing these machines still working in the field continues to help shape future improvements for KMC MAX.

Photo 1: FMC machines still operating with Soft Track Attack, with over 20 years of service behind them.

Photo 2: An original tank-style FMC manufactured in 1965, still operating today combating fire on steep slopes at 61 years old.

Few machine platforms can point to this kind of longevity in real-world forestry and wildfire operations.
