Alex recently returned from Montana, visiting wildfire-fighting operations and seeing firsthand how these machines continue to perform in some of the toughest terrain and fire conditions.

The machines shown here are original FMC units, the platform that later evolved into the KMC Kootrac machines and now serves as the foundation for KMC MAX equipment. KMC MAX is building on that proven platform with updated manufacturing, modern systems, and continued focus on traction, durability, and extreme terrain performance. Seeing these machines still working in the field continues to help shape future improvements for KMC MAX.

Photo 1: FMC machines still operating with Soft Track Attack, with over 20 years of service behind them.

Photo 2: An original tank-style FMC manufactured in 1965, still operating today combating fire on steep slopes at 61 years old.

Few machine platforms can point to this kind of longevity in real-world forestry and wildfire operations.

A recent stop in Bavaria, Germany with the team at Hirl Technik.

Another valuable visit getting a closer look at their operation, exchanging ideas, and learning more about their approach to shop setup and workflow. Every stop adds perspective as we continue meeting with potential partners and refining the details behind the scenes.

Thanks again for having us!

A stop in Sweden with the team at .

Spent time walking through their facility, learning about their processes, and seeing how they approach shop and warehouse operations. These visits are a big part of the work right now as we continue exploring suppliers and refining how we bring this platform together.

Appreciate the time and hospitality.

We’ve been on the move. āœˆļø Across time zones, through long days and early mornings, KMC MAX has been travelling the world, working directly with international suppliers and partners to bring this platform to market.

This is the part most people don’t see. The meetings, the site visits, the conversations, learning, sourcing, and refining every detail along the way.

All part of preparing to bring you the best machines possible.

Yesterday we hosted several companies at our demo in Uruguay, where they had the opportunity to see the machine’s track performance firsthand on slopes and in muddy conditions.

The unit used for the demonstration was an earlier version, but it shares the same chassis and track capabilities that will carry forward into the future KMC MAX platform.

Alongside the strong feedback from the group, we also had valuable discussions around multi-platform applications that will help shape future manufacturing.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Built for places no other machine will go.

From steep slopes to deep swamps, KMC Max machines are designed to handle the toughest terrain in forestry.

In our latest podcast episode with Alejo and Alex, we dig into the origin of the machine, its evolution from military design, and how new ownership is bringing KMC Max back to life with a bold move to Uruguay and plans to take it global.
This isn’t just a relaunch. It’s a rethink of what these machines can be.
