Next weekend, the Hurricane & Home Expo travels to Englewood for a full day dedicated to storm preparedness. Join us Saturday, June 13 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Elks Lodge (401 N Indiana Ave) for expert insights, live demonstrations, local resources, giveaways, and more. Hear from trusted speakers including meteorologist Matt Devitt, the American Red Cross, Charlotte County Emergency Management, SunCoast Blood Center, and other local professionals sharing practical guidance to help you prepare for hurricane season. Attendees can explore vendor booths, get home preparedness tips, enjoy food available for purchase, and even take part in a blood drive offering a $30 e-gift card. Plus, two generators will be given away during the event. Whether you’re a homeowner, renter, or seasonal resident, this expo is your chance to get real answers and feel more confident heading into storm season.

The American Powerboat Association (APBA) World Championship is coming to the 11th annual Englewood Beach Waterfest, set for October 10–12.

The APBA Championship is a three-race series that will crown its champions at Englewood Beach this year.

The event will begin on October 10 with the Annual Block Party on Dearborn Street, where race teams will meet the public. Racing will commence at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, and continues through Sunday, October 12, culminating in an awards ceremony to honor the top three winners.

General admission tickets are priced at $35 for two days, with children under 12 admitted free. VIP experiences range from $150 for a single day to $250 for the full weekend.

Englewood Beach Waterfest will take place this year at 2100 North Beach Road in Englewood. More information, tickets, and volunteer opportunities are available at englewoodbeachwaterfest.com.
