Last month after his lengthy 37-year career here at PTR, Mr. Furness bid farewell to his working career. Andy, a veteran of the US Navy, and motorcycle enthusiast will now be working hard for his favorite person- his loving wife Marleise's on her honey-do list at their home in CT!

Andy was PTR's Senior Mechanical Assembler, and had long been a main stay on our busy Production floor. Since he started with Leybold-Heraeus in 1988, he had a personal hand in making the sure that the last 95 EB welding systems that we manufactured were mechanically sound, and functional. I promise you this is no small task.

Andy being Andy, aka one of the nicest guys in the building- no matter what he had going on his plate always had time to help you find or identify a missing nut or bolt for an assembly that YOU were working on. Or to simplify a complicated print, or component that YOU were struggling to make any sense of. He has shown compassion and care for fellow coworkers, humans and anyone that happened to be around him. And after 37 long years, we here HOPE that he enjoys his retirement with his family and loved ones... remembering that hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and a good thing never dies.

Enjoy retirement my friend, you will be truly missed by your PTR work family. 💙
