This gorgeous cross has been so much fun to restore! Originally made from sheet steel, hammered to an exquisite shape and bonded with lead. Then they dipped the whole thing in a zinc bath. Worked like a boss for 160 years.
I guess it’s my duty to ensure another 160 years.
Love my job!

Just finished a rush repair that was…phew!
Two German antique parlor stove feet. They had broken several times before, each with its own repair. I had to be so careful with the temperature, that I could only work with it for a couple minutes before it had to go back in the oven to stabilize. I chose to TIG braze the feet with bronze, rather than weld them. I’ve had most success with this method.
