Paraquat Use Before Hard Red Winter Wheat Harvest
Paraquat is not labeled for pre-harvest or harvest aid use in wheat, and its application before grain delivery can result in condemned grain, fines, and quarantine.

Why paraquat is not allowed before harvest
No pre-harvest label: Paraquat is a nonselective contact herbicide that kills plant tissue it contacts. In wheat, it is not registered for use as a harvest aid or pre-harvest w**d control - Department of Agronomy | Kansas State University+1.

Quarantine and destruction risk: If paraquat is detected in wheat grain, it can lead to the condemnation of the entire crop, destruction of grain, and significant fines - Department of Agronomy | Kansas State University.

Residue detection: Paraquat residues are easily detectable in grain, making it a non‑starter for export markets - OSU Extension.
