😂 We see you, “just looking” folks!
We know you've got a plan. We know you've got a broken part in your pocket. And we know you're determined to find the replacement all by yourself. 🤣
Don't worry, we'll be right here when you're ready to admit defeat. 😉
Now tell us… are you a “just looking” shopper, or do you march straight to the counter holding the evidence? 🔧😂
Thanks to Big Cedar for giving us a good laugh!
“JUST LOOKING,” SAYS WOOD’S CUSTOMER CLUTCHING THE EXACT BROKEN THING HE NEEDS
FOR THE LOCALS
A local man entered Wood’s fully prepared to spend 25 minutes finding a part an employee could identify in six seconds.
His plan encountered immediate difficulty when someone welcomed him and politely asked whether he needed help.
“I’m good, just looking,” he said, clutching a broken plumbing fitting like evidence he had forgotten to conceal.
The employee smiled and let him browse. The situation continued to escalate entirely inside his own head.
He had prepared for a hardware problem. He had not prepared to explain the hardware problem to another person.
For the next several minutes, he examined items he did not need with the concentration of a man whose reputation depended on understanding them.
Occasionally, he raised the broken fitting beside something completely different, nodded thoughtfully, and moved on.
By his third lap, asking for help presented a new complication: it would mean admitting he had needed help during the first two laps.
Eventually, he approached the employee.
“Actually, do you have one of these?”
The employee found the replacement, checked that it matched, and sent him on his way with a friendly goodbye.
The man returned to his truck relieved, grateful, and impressed by the service.
“Good place,” he reported later. “Found exactly what I needed.”
He did not mention the search party had consisted of one employee and lasted six seconds.
The sign may change. For the locals, it’ll always be Wood’s. And somebody will always ask if you need help before you’ve worked up the courage to admit it.
Are you a “just looking” person, or do you walk straight in holding the broken thing?
