Today’s video gives an in-depth description of SIX Series 1 E-Type OTS/roadster "donor cars" that we have available.

Plus - there's alot more! You'll also get a look at our large collection of original E-Type parts and pieces as well - we literally have TONS of original E-Type projects, parts, pieces, and even some body shells.

These "donor car" packages are complete, original E-Types that have "lost" their body shells for one reason or another... They are PERFECT for building aluminum lightweights, low-drag coupes, D-Type or XKSS replicas, FIA racing cars, or standard E-Type builds of drivers or even show cars. They are a very sensible and economical way to acquire the key components needed for your build - and an original E-Type identity to base it on.

Instead of spending more money on a more complete and otherwise restorable E-Type project - that you then only use half of anyway - consider one of these original Series 1 roadster packages!

Each unit includes the key components to an original E-Type OTS/roadster, minus the body shell itself - including original engine, gearbox, front and rear suspension, steering, carburetion, etc. We can add or subtract components based on your specific needs for your project.

These cars were acquired in our various E-Type rescue adventures over the years. In the past, we have sold several of these cars for various customer builds, but we have now finally had the chance to clean up and organize a bit more, and to put this video together and offer them to the E-Type community at large.

We do have the complete provenance for these cars - the history, the original identity plates and stampings, and a clear US title for ALL of these packages.

1961 - Black "Flat Floor" 3.8 OTS/roadster
1962 - Opalescent Dark Green 3.8 OTS/roadster
1963 - Cream 3.8 OTS/roadster
1964 - Red 3.8 OTS/roadster
1965 - Primrose Yellow 4.2 OTS/roadster
1966 - Silver 4.2 OTS/roadster
AND MORE! - we can also do a package like this on a 1963 3.8-liter FHC/Coupe, and a 1970 Series 2 4.2-liter OTS/roadster - I do also have restorable bodies for both of those...

Pricing varies based on the year, color combination, matching numbers or not, etc. - but primarily on how complete you would like the package to be.

You'll see a detailed description of each of the packages, plus lots of photos and stories of various E-Type car and parts collections that we have rescued in the past. It's actually a very fun and informative movie on its own even if you are not in the market for one of these packages!

How to fit an E-Type Bonnet!

In our newest video, I attempt to divulge EVERYTHING I know about fitting E-Type bonnets.

I think this video will be very helpful to just about everyone out there who is restoring an E-Type.

You should watch this as early in the restoration process as you can, as there are pitfalls to look out for while rebuilding the body shell that can impact the bonnet fit later.

I had this box out the other day while we were filming a new, special and long-awaited video. Stay tuned for that, it will be coming out on Sunday. 😉

Looking down into this box and seeing how many of these have piled up over the years had me shaking my head this morning…

For well over a year while I was in college, I drove my ‘63 roadster around with only one of these functioning. The passenger side latch was broken and gravity just held the bonnet down over there - although it did always knock against the sill going over big bumps. 🤦‍♂️

These days, I do try to be a little more “buttoned up”…. But when I was a kid, I guess I was just too anxious to jump behind the wheel and head off to the next adventure. 🙂

Today’s cool E-Type part - it took me all day to make it.

We’ve made these in the past, but it was very time consuming and also never came out quite right… So I spent the day today making this one, while also fine-tuning the patterns and the process. Now it is perfect! 🙂

Today’s cool E-Type part…

These are filler panels for Series 2 & 3 E-Type front turn signal lamps.

The Series 2 and 3 have open headlamps that are pushed forward substantially, a larger mouth, the front bumpers are raised 3/4”. In addition, the turn signals are larger and are below the bumper on large steel “pods” that stick out from the lower valance.

Some of our customers who purchase the Series 2 or 3 covered headlamp conversion kits will also remove the turn signal pods and replace the with these blanking panels, then lower the bumper to the midline like a Series 1 ( or delete it altogether) and use the Series 1 turn signals above the bumper.

These are hand-made by me on an English wheel to get the correct compound curve, then I roll in the top fl**ge where the lower valance bolts to the wings.

Today’s interesting part - this is a LH pedal box panel for an early OBL or flat-floor 3.8-liter E-Type.

The early cars have a simple recess in this panel, vs. later 3.8’s that have a longer, open channel.

This one is complete with the 16-gauge stiffener underneath, and will be fitted to an early flat-floor coupe in Germany. 🙂
