🚚⛽It was a full house at CHC's monthly sales meeting last week.

A significant portion of this meeting was devoted to discussing the current state of the freight industry, and how rates, fuel, and regulations have shifted the landscape.

🌐📦Here's another simple yet effective integration by the CHC team.

This project included the installation of conveyor netting along an elevated conveyor line to catch falling product and increase associate safety.

Conveyor netting is commonly used in facilities where cartons, totes, or other conveyed items travel at height or near work zones. It helps prevent products from falling off the conveyor, reduces risk to staff and equipment below, and adds an extra layer of safety without restricting visibility or access.

As an added layer of safety, any items that do fall into the net are held securely in place, so retrieval can be done without complete disassembly.

🔑Optimizing a process can take many different forms, and for many situations, the best solution can often be the simplest.

In a recent job CHC completed, the issue was that the existing conveyor gates were heavy, cumbersome, and becoming difficult for operators to use on a daily basis. Instead of overhauling the entire solutions (over-conveyor stairs, hanging conveyors, automatic gates, etc), our solution was simply installing newer and lighter conveyor gates.

Taking out the trash!

This May, CHC gave back to our Elkridge community by volunteering with the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area to pick up rubbish around the Elkridge Furnace Inn & Deep Run.

With the crew hard at work, CHC managed to remove over 300lbs of trash and debris! We'd like to thank all who participated and our friends at PHG for coordinating the event.
