Bremer Closure Update:

Bremer will be closing at 2:30pm today (2nd shift is cancelled).

Tomorrow, Thursday, 2/23/23, Bremer will first open at 8:30am. (1st shift delayed start, 8:30am, not 4:30am).

For Shakeout you will be pulling the castings out of the sand shakeout equipment and stack them in appropriate containers. This requires moving the molds into the shakeout equipment and removing as much of the sand as possible from the casting. A Shake Operator may work up to two lines at one time. For Knockout you will be responsible for removing unwanted sand from castings as required. This is accomplished by operating vibrating equipment.

The metal manufacturing industry is truly interesting when you see all the different processes and science that goes into making the pieces that we do. We have just received in new heat treat baskets.

Heat-treating is used to alter the physical and/or chemical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous materials through selective heating and/or cooling. These metallurgical changes often involve changing the material’s strength, hardness and ductility.

These baskets are made from scratch and clearly require a great deal creativity and work which goes into making one. Incredible.
