As we head into this long holiday weekend, all of us at Systems in Motion hope you take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.

This week, we kicked off the season with our first grilled lunch at the Elgin office. A great reminder of how important it is to come together, enjoy good food, and appreciate the incredible people we work alongside every day.

But most importantly, let’s remember the true meaning of Memorial Day, honoring the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Please also take a moment to thank the veterans and active-duty service members you encounter this weekend for their dedication and service to our country.

Conveyors should be inspected more often than most facilities realize.

A conveyor system is one of the hardest working pieces of equipment in any operation and small issues can quickly turn into costly downtime if they go unnoticed.

Recommended Inspection Frequency:

Daily – Visual checks for belt tracking, unusual noise, or debris buildup

Weekly – Inspect rollers, bearings, motors, and safety guards

Monthly – Check belt tension, alignment, wear patterns, and lubrication points

Quarterly/Annually – Perform full preventive maintenance inspections and component evaluations
