The highlight for him was the keynote Peter Lemon, President of GraniteRock, who emphasized the importance of curiosity—and the value of saying yes to it.

Dan will be wrapping up his term as Chair of the AAPT Communications Committee next month. It’s been a great experience collaborating with peers and supporting efforts to promote the important work happening across the asphalt industry.

One of the most impactful programs AAPT supports is the Student Chapter Program, which plays a critical role in attracting, developing, and connecting new talent to the asphalt industry. Through hands-on learning, competitions, and mentorship, these chapters help build the future workforce our industry depends on.

Dan and Miguel were in Columbus this week for the 2026 Ohio Asphalt Expo, and it was time well spent.

The Expo provided an excellent opportunity to meet directly with customers and industry partners, including Justin Wilson of Shelly and Sands, and discuss the current landscape across Ohio.
