This week’s inbox finds are aggressively testing my ability to stay loyal to neutral countertops 😂

1️⃣Black Smoke soapstone from — soft texture + that lived-in luxury feel
2️⃣Breccia Vittoria marble from — basically if terrazzo and marble had a couture baby
3️⃣Calacatta Picasso marble from — movement so wild it genuinely looks painted
4️⃣Atlas granite from — earthy, organic, almost ancient-looking in the best way
5️⃣Aqua Crystallo quartzite from — icy, translucent, spa-energy perfection
6️⃣Blue Dream quartzite from — moody, dramatic, and somehow still elegant

One of my favorite parts of this industry is getting to see slabs most people never even know exist.
And honestly? Half the fun is imagining where each one belongs — coastal modern, dramatic powder room, luxe bar, quiet spa bathroom… there’s a personality match for every stone.

Which one are you picking? 👀

Meanwhile in the fab shop 👀

Cristallo quartzite on the table and honestly… this slab is doing all the work for us. Thanks for getting these slabs to us in the coveted 2cm thickness.

The natural layering, soft translucency, and movement in this material are exactly why no two slabs are ever the same. This is one of those stones that completely changes depending on the lighting and angle.

Usually, your countertop should lead the kitchen design.

Why? Because stone has way more movement, variation, and visual impact than most backsplash tile selections.

BUT…

if you find a backsplash you absolutely LOVE and want to make the star of the show, then going more minimal on the countertops can be SUCH a good move.

The key is knowing which material is the main character before you start selecting everything else ✨

Inbox finds this week and… I fear I have a type 😮‍💨

Every day my vendors send over slabs and honestly?
It’s one of the best parts of my job.

Even if they’re not for a current project, I’m mentally placing every single one somewhere 👀

This week’s lineup:
• Titanium Gold Leathered Granite
• Calacatta Turquoise Marble
• Macaubas Fantasy Quartzite
• Caraibica Blue Calcite
• California Quartzite

Some are bold, some are subtle, some are “design a whole room around me immediately.”

So tell me— are you going dramatic or keeping it calm?

You picked the slab… now watch what happens.

This is Explosion Blue by Walker Zanger going from raw slab → fabrication → installed as the statement wall in a powder room inside one of our secret Atlantic City penthouse projects 🎰✨

With material this bold, every decision matters—
layout, bookmatch, and making sure that slab is exactly right before we ever cut.

Because once it’s up?
It’s not just a wall… it’s the whole mood.

Next up: the matching vanity top that drops perfectly into that opening 👀

Would you go this bold in your own space?

Grout lines on shower walls? Not in this penthouse ✨

We wrapped this shower in Terracanto Asgard porcelain slabs to create that clean, seamless, spa-like feel… without all the maintenance that comes with traditional tile.

Less grout = less upkeep
But also? A way bigger design moment.

Fabricated and installed to flow beautifully through the space, this is one of those details that quietly makes the entire room feel elevated.

Proof that the right material doesn’t just finish a space—it defines it.

Finish Friday at FMT ✨

This week had a little bit of everything…

• Stone Harbor bar tops coming together (that soft movement + brass taps = 🤌🏼)
• Yard life… aka Red Bull on the boom because we’re in our busy season
• And penthouse porcelain slabs that are about to be next level:
 – Calacatta Extreme
 – Asgard

Plot twist: those last two aren’t natural stone—they’re porcelain 👀

From slabs in the yard ➡️ to fabricated tops ➡️ to high-end installs…

Same process.
Different materials.
Completely different end results every time.

That’s the magic of what we do 🤍
