A new project, a new technology. Two dimensional LiDAR units have become the cost effective alternatives to proximity switches and ToF lasers. With the ability to assign multiple configurations of three or more sensing areas, distances or ranges, why would you stick with old tech. A set of four can provide not only slow down and end of travel limits, but also complete intrusion protection for racks, gantry cranes or any other machinery in conflict with personnel access.

Forty of these little jewels protect a storage system of over 900 slips over nearly 100,000 square feet.

We set our first 40 ton wheel assembly. It fit like a glove. This prototype for this design was tested to 120 metric tons in an attempt to determine a failure mode. The test stand maxed out, but the wheel did not. I guess we need to find a larger test bed.

Only 179 more to install.
