This vigilance to the design process assures your project is the very best it can be. A quality control engineer is an integral part of each project. Our engineers are charged with obtaining a technically correct, cost-effective final project. At a minimum Quality Assurance reviews take place at major milestone dates for deliverables. For design projects Quality Assurance occurs at the end of each design phase. We review studies and reports at the completion of the initial outline, again at the completion of the preliminary submission, and finally prior to the final document being presented. Tec’s Operations Manager, in conjunction with the Project Manager, is responsible to schedule and ensure completion of the required Quality Assurance reviews. Each review must be completed, with corrections made and signed-off, prior to beginning the next phase of work. A Quality Assurance review log is maintained with the project records. The value of this dedicated effort is reflected in the low percentage of change orders on even the most complex design projects, as well as the excellent bid to budget performance on construction projects. Tec’s record of projects being completed within the established engineering construction estimate is due in large part to the clarity of the design documents, and our extensive experience with many types of design projects. Tec’s Electrical Engineering Department is very active in professional organizations at the local and national levels. In addition to his professional engineering credentials, he is an electrical safety inspector and an instructor of the National Electrical Code. Our staff includes board members or officers of the Cleveland Section of Illuminating Engineering Society, the Electrical League of Ohio, as well as active membership in the International Association of Lighting Designers, BICSI, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the International Dark-Sky Association. Professional Lighting Design is a unique discipline for engineering firms, positioning Tec as a leader in the Midwest. Our designers have collaborated on a large variety of projects. Our lighting designers bring a range of experience from healthcare, commercial, liturgical, and high-end residential to landscape and site illumination. We take care to specifically coordinate electrical and lighting design to meet the original design intent of the owner. Additionally, we offer extensive knowledge of lighting control systems. Our CEO, Terry Kilbourne, is Lighting Certified and is a leading authority on indirect illumination, developing designs that maintain the visual interest within a space, as well as compatibility with the architectural design. He was the Chairman of the IES Library Lighting Design and Application Committee responsible for developing the recommended Practice for Library Lighting (RP-4). TECHNOLOGY DESIGN
Professional Technology Design is an integral part of Tec’s engineering services. Timothy Pool, PE, RCDD is a Registered Cable Distribution Designer. Pool has designed technology infrastructure for numerous healthcare, educational, and library facilities. His BICSI credentials keep him abreast of the latest in communication technologies.
