John W. "Butch" Shatzer of St. Thomas, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was employed as an auto mechanic with Sites Garage in St. Thomas, McKnight Motors in Chambersburg and finally was the owner/operator of Edenville Garage for 20 years until his retirement. Butch was a member of Chambersburg Alliance Church. He was also a member of the Nashville Tennessee Steel Guitar Association and the Ozark Steel Guitar Association in Branson, MO, and enjoyed traveling to both for conventions where he met many friends over the years. Butch also enjoyed showing his 1931 Chevy Coupe at car shows, dirt track racing, and sprint car racing.

Austin drove the 69G 4 Cylinder Thunder car at Path Valley winning rookie of the year in 2014. He had aspirations of one day moving into the Late Model division.
