Thread cutting and thread rolling are two common methods of creating threads, but they work in very different ways. Cutting removes material, while rolling displaces and compacts it into the desired thread shape.
This rolling process creates a favorable grain flow and work-hardens the material, producing threads with greater tensile and fatigue strength. At United Centerless Grinding & Thread Rolling, we use rolling to deliver durable threads for strong parts.
