Okay! So got first batch ready to rock and roll. Each box is labeled with a number, if your interest in the box - let me know. I’ll update this as people buy. All of these blocks have been stabilized. Walnut is clear stabilized, rest are dark grey / green / Brown or yellow.

My stabilizing process is as follows:

I use BVV stabilizer or Cactus Juice (depending on stock, they are identical)

For clear or single color -

1.) blocks get kilned until they dont change weight and then they are ziploc’d and stored with dessicant until Its their turn.
2.) then they go under a dual stage vacuum until there’s zero bubbles
3.) then vacuum is released and soak begins for 72 hours to 2 weeks depending on the density of the wood.
4.) cook at 205*
5.) 60 grit rough sand then 240 grit final sand.
6.) Blocks typicallly double or trippers weight after stabilizing.

Pictures are taken wiped down with minerall spirits.

Each box is 65$ shipped in the CONUS. Send me a message with the number you are interested in , and I’ll send uou an electronic invoice you can pay! Buyer protection is part of business.

I am beyond excited for this one! I have been keeping this one under wraps until our newest family member received their birthday knife.

Vàli knife in Nitro-V stainless from NJSB.
Tanto blade profile with acid etch.
Figured Black Walnut scales with Red liners.
Custom verse engraved on the spine.
Cross mosaic pin from Maritime Knife Supply
Tactical grey carbon fiber sheeth in scout carry with Biothane Beta belt loops.

He also got one of our hoodies (our last Large) and a Surtr’s Spark ferro rod with matching black walnut grip.

When you build your knife with Valli Forge, be ready for open lines of communication. We worked with Danny through the entire process. His wife got this for him as a birthday gift. We started by selecting the blade profile and the steel, then we worked through handle materials and sheeth pattern. Finally, as he opened the box, he became part of the VF Family!

Spent the day cutting wood. No im not a lumber jack. I am a person who enjoys understanding very facet of a job. I also take pride knowing that every part of a Valli Forge knife, is made in house. When we do buy parts, they are made in America by Americans. We make all of our hardwood handle scales, mosaic pins (for the most part) and sheaths.

What are some things that we do buy for knives?

The steel - sourced from New Jersey Steel Barron
Synthetic Handle Materials - Made by Current Composites- made in North Haven CT
Epoxy - System Three Resins in Washington

What do you do to start the day? Here at the shop, we are getting our laser on! This is the Vàli, heading to an awesome customer down south. Nitro-V blad with a forced etch. Figured Black Walnut handles with red g10 liners and brass pins.

Next up is personalized engraving, then she gets an edge - and off to the customer!

This customer has been amazing - like all of my customers. We worked through this entire process. I work at building a relationship with each person as we go through and build their knife. We pick the steel, the handle material, customization and sheath. I like to send pictures during the build process too.

Here at Valli Forge, we aren’t a big name shop cranking out hundreds of blades. It’s a small operation with just myself and my wife. I aim to keep it that way - to provide the best customer service along with the best tools. This is a passion and each piece is as unique as the person buying it!

Not bad, little satin finish going down on some Vàli blades. We take them up to 800 grit with Phoenix Abrasives. Blue Belts 36 grit, to purple belts up to 120, then greenn AO’s up to 320. Then I hand sand them perpendicular starting at 320, then 400, then 800. Wednesday they will be going into Ferric to get theirr etch on!

Stay tuned fore the finished products!

Use what we use!

The quad doubles as a warming rack 😂. This batch of 10 blades just came out of Cryo treatment. Each stainless blade that goes through our forge, gets heat treated in our Hot Shot HS18K kiln. Once it gets plate quenched, it’s right into liquid nitrogen. We want to convert as much austenite to martensite, to maximize that hardness. This allows the carbides to form to their maximum potential and increases the wear resistance and edge retention!

Do you see your knife in this batch?

Batch of blades moving through the shop this month.

Blue Handled blade is our Huginn - it’s the every day carry full size drop point blade. These are Nitro-V stainless. The blue handle is g10 layered black and blue from current composites. The wooden handled one is dyed hard Maple. Both blades tested out at 61 HRC. Blade length is 3” and handle is 4.5”. The blue handled one is sold and the wood handled version is for sale.

The Hèl, is the knife with the sweeping curved handle finished in Cherry Burl. The blade is S30V stainless steel that tested out at 63 HRC. The cherry Burl pulled a gorgeous luster after it was stabilized in house. Blade length is 3” and handle is 3.5”. This one is ready to go to its new owner, so it’s not for sale.

Up next is the Sigurd with the Segmented Scales. This one is stunning. Front of the handle is quilted ash dyed and stabilized brown. The resin is system three river cast! With white g10 spacers. The tail of the handle is a segment of cherry that that has been stabilized. The blade is s30v and tested out at 63 HRC. Blade length is 4” and handle is 4.5”. This one is for sale.

The other Sigurd is for a family friend. Again another S30V blade at 63 HRC and the handle is nicely figured walnut! Sourced right here in Connecticut! Blade length is 4” and handle is 4.5”. This one has been custom laser engraved for the Submariner Vet! Not for Sale.

Love this work! Thanks for checking it out!
