We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shop Manager to lead our bustling repair and service shop in East Dundee, Illinois. Our shop specializes in semi-truck maintenance, repairs, and fleet services, utilizing a wide range of tools and equipment to keep vehicles on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations of the shop, including scheduling repairs, managing inventory, and coordinating with technicians.
• Lead a team of mechanics and support staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and motivation to achieve high standards.
• Handle customer interactions, from quoting jobs to ensuring satisfaction with services on semi-trucks, trailers, and other heavy vehicles.
• Manage shop tools and equipment, ensuring safety compliance and efficient use (e.g., diagnostic tools, lifts, wrenches, and specialized truck repair gear).
• Monitor budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace in line with industry regulations.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a shop manager or similar role in the automotive/trucking industry.
• Strong knowledge of semi-truck systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with shop management software and tools.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy equipment as needed.
