We visited the career fair at East Canton Elementary—Doug, Barbco’s Safety Director 🦺, and Sara Barbera were there. Doug talked with the kids about who Barbco is, what we do, and the industry as a whole. We even got to see some familiar faces while we were there! 📚✏️

Barbco Co-Owner Tony Barbera breaks down what makes the BBC55 Retractable Roller Cone Cutting Head a standout in hard rock conditions — and why the newest design takes serviceability to another level. 🛠️✅

The latest BBC55 is unique and one of the first of its kind to feature individually replaceable cutters. Instead of welded-in cutters that required extensive labor and torch work to remove, the new design utilizes bolted-in cutters for faster, easier replacement and maintenance in the field.🔩

Manufactured by Glinik in Poland, these cutters are built for demanding ground conditions while allowing contractors to keep their tooling working longer with less downtime. Combined with the BBC55’s retractable design — which already allows for mid-bore inspection, servicing, and tool changes without pulling the entire string — the result is a cutting head engineered with long-term serviceability in mind.

Future problem solvers at work. 👏

We were proud to provide Dover Middle School students with Barbco Auger Boring Machine Lego kits as part of a hands-on classroom engineering activity focused on trenchless technology and environmental awareness.

It’s great to see students learning how “no-dig” construction methods can help reduce surface disruption while exploring real-world engineering concepts in a creative way.

Thank you to Dover City Schools, Mr. Jones, and all of the students who participated. We always enjoy seeing the next generation take an interest in engineering, infrastructure, and innovative thinking. 🇺🇸

Dover Middle School students in Mr. Jones’ Life Science class brought science to life with a hands-on engineering challenge! 🔬🧱

Students built Barbco Auger Boring Machines out of Legos while learning about the importance of protecting wildlife habitats. These machines use a “no dig” approach, which helps reduce surface disruption and protect sensitive ecosystems. 🌎

Through this activity, students explored real-world solutions for lowering environmental impact and becoming more eco-friendly.

Project Highlight: Fortis Siteworks ( ) – 400’ Guided Auger Bore, Savannah Georgia 🪏
We want to give a big shout-out to our friends at Fortis Siteworks on the successful completion of this 400’ guided auger bore. The Fortis team utilized our Pathfinder 500 pilot-tube Guided Boring System, paired with our 36/48-650 Auger Boring Machine.
The Fortis team impressively completed the crossing on perfect line & grade, despite the challenging wet & sandy ground conditions. 🎯
