Service shows up in more places than people think.

A phone call.
A question about an invoice.
Helping someone get what they need so they can move forward.

For Nathan, that’s Service First.

Today, we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Honor their sacrifice. Learn their stories. Speak their names.

Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we often take for granted.

It’s not complicated.
Just do the work and do it right.

This is finest service.

This is an ambulance remount.

They keep the box, replace the chassis, and rebuild everything that needs it: wiring, components, all the details you don’t see.

It’s a second life for the truck.

And it can save departments up to 35% compared to buying new.

“At the end of the day, I’m a firefighter, and this is my career. This truck will be here for hopefully 20+ years. Yes, it is just a truck, it’s a toolbox, but that truck is gonna save a lot of people. It’s gonna help the citizens here.

No one wants to talk about the bad, but that truck is outfitted for people’s worst day. Whether they live here or come here to mountain bike or hike, that is the purpose of that truck.

When you have a bad day, we show up and we make it better.”

There’s a rhythm to the shop in San Antonio.

Doors roll open. Lights come on. Steel starts moving.
Another truck getting worked on. Another one heading out soon.

For years, Jack Drake has been part of that rhythm.

You’ll find him moving around the shop, doing whatever needs doing.
Cleaning up. Helping on a build. Driving a truck across the lot.

No title. Just work.

Jack didn’t start in fire trucks.
Maintenance. Buses. A/C work. Then trucks.

One job at a time.

Somewhere along the way, he helped build more trucks than he can count.

One after another, week by week.

“I wish I’d written my name somewhere underneath those trucks. I don’t know how many I’ve built.”

Departments all over are running trucks he had a hand in.
Places he may never go. Calls he’ll never see.

But the work is out there.

And if you ask him what he does?

He’ll just tell you:

“I build trucks.”
