UNH Steel Bridge Team

UNH Steel Bridge Team This team is a student run organization in which all proceeds help to pay for steel, transportation costs, and sleeping accommodations.

We are very competitive, and involved in annual competitions. This competition is meant to simulate the design and construction of a bridge in the professional world by creating a one-tenth-scale bridge that integrates the aspects of design, fabrication and construction. The bridge is designed and fabricated during the academic year, then brought to a regional competition to be judged. The bridge

is judged on aesthetics and overall construction costs; which is based on the number of builders, deflection, weight and time of construction. The UNH Steel Bridge Team won the New England Regional Steel Bridge Competition that took place in Quebec City, Canada in April 2011. This allowed them to earn a spot to compete at the national competition in Texas A&M in May 2011. The team took third place overall this year at the New England Regional Steel Bridge Competition that took place in Amherst, Massachusetts in March 2012.

Check any hours that you are available on a weekly basis. We ask that you try to commit to at least two hours every week. Once the design is finalized, we will need as much help as we can get to get the bridge built!
