When two critically ill patients needed rapid resuscitation, LifeFlow helped deliver.

In the first case, a patient with a hemoglobin of 2.9 received 2 units of blood using LifeFlow, and blood pressure, heart rate, and color improved within about 15 minutes.

Later that same morning, LifeFlow was used to rapidly infuse 1 liter of normal saline through a humeral IO during cardiac arrest—in about 3 minutes.

We had the privilege of presenting LifeFlow Challenge Coins to members of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office Paramedic Division for their extraordinary care of critically injured patients. Thank you for bringing lifesaving care to your community!

In one case, a patient with a gunshot wound was in profound hemorrhagic shock, with a faint radial pulse and altered mental status. One unit of low-titer O whole blood was rapidly administered using LifeFlow and the QinFlow Warrior Lite warmer in approximately 2 minutes. Her blood pressure improved to 126/69 and her heart rate dropped from 160 to 100 before transport.

In another case, a pedestrian-versus-vehicle patient remained in profound hemorrhagic shock despite tourniquets, with a blood pressure of just 54/37. Packed red blood cells were rapidly transfused using LifeFlow and the QinFlow Warrior Lite warmer, improving her blood pressure to 98/61 during transport.

A motor vehicle accident patient was found in profound hemorrhagic shock after a prolonged extrication.

Ridgeview Ambulance delivered 2 units of warmed blood in approximately 7 minutes using LifeFlow and the QinFlow Warrior warmer, after which the patient’s blood pressure and mental status improved rapidly.

BP: 45/21 → 116/45 mmHg
Shock Index: 2.1 → 0.9

Rapid blood delivery helped stabilize the patient before arrival at the ED.

A 79-year-old patient with cirrhosis and severe GI hemorrhage arrived in shock with no available peripheral IV access. Using an IO line and LifeFlow, the team delivered 4 units of blood and 1L of fluid, stabilizing the patient enough to proceed to interventional radiology for definitive treatment.
