Lehman Engineers was thrilled to celebrate the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony this Saturday for Frank O’Farrell’s spectacular new commercial development at 2200 Pleasant Valley Boulevard. This modern space brings fantastic new local flavor and services to the area, proudly featuring Alfonso's Coffee and Beach Bunny Tanning.

We are incredibly proud to have partnered on this project, providing the comprehensive site development plan that helped bring this vision to life. To mark this milestone achievement, our very own Land Development Director, Ken Szala, was on hand to participate in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! The Lehman Engineers family is growing, and we could not be happier to celebrate the recent fall weddings of two of our talented young designers.

Please join us in celebrating Evan Cardoza, a Designer with our Bridge Team, who recently wed Victoria Tyler. Not to be outdone in the romance department, Adam Lanzendorfer, a Designer with our Highway Team, also tied the knot with his new bride, Jenna Ramsey. Both couples celebrated gorgeous autumn weddings surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of love.

At Lehman Engineers, we take immense pride in building strong foundations - not just in our infrastructure projects, but in the lives and careers of our team members. Watching Evan and Adam take these beautiful next steps in life is a true joy. Our hearts are heavy with sadness within the Lehman Engineers family this week due to the passing of Walter James “Wally” Hoover, 84, of Altoona who passed away peacefully on Tuesday at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center.

Wally was a beloved member of our community and the father of Betsy Lehman, and father-in-law of our Senior Advisor, Joe Lehman, Jr. We extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Betsy, Joe, and the entire Hoover and Lehman families during this difficult time.

Hawbaker, Inc. benefits local charities and emergency services. Representing our firm on the links was the golfing foursome of Elijah Sechler, Ryan Murphy, Garrett Leopold, and Tom Bilko.

We are pleased to announce that Adam Lanzendorfer has joined the Lehman Engineers Highway Department as a Designer I. Adam is a native of Northern Cambria and a 2026 graduate of Saint Francis University in Loretto with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering. He previously completed four summer internships with PennDOT District 9-0 in Hollidaysburg. Welcome, Adam!

We congratulate our own Ryan Murphy for his recent selection to this year’s class of the Altoona Mirror’s “20 Under 40.” The program recognizes 20 rising business leaders and community servants under the age of 40.

Ryan is classified as an Engineer Intern (E.I.) and is a Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (C.B.S.I.) with primary responsibilities of Bridge Inspection/Analysis and Bridge/Structural Design. He and the other 20 Under 40 honorees are featured in the June/July/August edition of the Mirror’s Blair Living magazine.

Leadership Transition and Internal Ownership Change

P. Joseph Lehman, Inc., Consulting Engineers (Lehman Engineers), a full-service civil, structural, environmental, and land development firm serving Pennsylvania and surrounding states, today announced a long-planned internal leadership and ownership change.
Effective June 2, 2026, P. Joseph Lehman, Jr., P.E., who together with his late father have dedicated nearly six decades of service to the firm, has passed the torch of leadership by transitioning his majority ownership interest to long-time company leaders Chuck Meyers, P.E., Principal/Transportation Services Director (29 years), Scott Klingenberg, Principal/Environmental Services Director (28 years), and Robert Bryant, P.E., Senior Quality Control Advisor (52 years).
Chuck Meyers, P.E., stated: “Joe and his father built an outstanding firm over nearly six decades, and we are deeply grateful for their vision, leadership, and the strong foundation they have given us. We are committed to carrying forward the Lehman Way – delivering exceptional engineering solutions and treating every client and employee like family. We look forward to this next chapter of growth and continued service to our communities.”
Scott Klingenberg added: “This long-planned transition has been thoughtfully prepared for more than a year.
