China has been opening: A brand new steel plant- approximately the size of the U.S. Steel plant that was located in Duluth, Minnesota EVERY MONTH from 2014 and will continue to open a brand new facility EVERY MONTH until the year 2020!! With the production of the Roys Hills tacconite out of Brazil,, 15% higher grade iron ore and about 45% cheaper- More for less- I doubt highly that the U.S. steel industry will recover unless a fair tariff is enacted immediately.

In 2014/2015 I submitted to Representative Simonson of Duluth, Senator Reinert and to Governor Dayton's Office the draft of the Minnesota Environmental & Economic Protection Bill, which demanded a 300% tariff on Chinese steel and other foreign imported items. The governors office contacted me 5 times for additional references on these issues. A new bill has been drafted suggesting a 295% tariff increase. Along with the original draft is the demand to invoke fair trade or a class action lawsuit on behalf of Minnesota steelworkers, their families, and all affected parties hurt by foreign imported and manufactured items. This is why we need protection. I think there should be an Environmental Tariff on any product that is not made as clean as a U.S. Made product. This will quickly level the playing field and bring it all to the table.

China's economy is cooling, but its steel mills are still going strong -- which is a problem for everybody else who produces it.

China’s mills keep producing in the face of weak demand, and sell the excess abroad, leading to calls in the U.S. and EU for tariffs.

The MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector accounts for about 45 per cent of India's manufacturing output and 40 per cent of exports. As per the Annual Report of the Ministry of MSME, the 29 million MSME units provide direct employment to about 70 million persons. The sector holds immense promise in fostering creativity and innovation in products and processes, given that the investment in setting up units is relatively low and uncomplicated.
