Custom splined shafts often need more than a single operation. From hobbing and shaping through ISO 9001 inspection and final packaging, we handle every step in-house in Dubuque.

Straight, involute, internal, and external teeth across a wide range of sizes. Spur, helical, or bevel gears can also be hobbed or shaped directly onto the shaft when the application calls for it.

Every shaft ships with complete documentation. If you have a tough spec to hit, we want to see it.

We had a great time at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas back in March.

Four days connecting with OEMs and manufacturing partners, reviewing prints, and building on existing partnerships. Thank you to everyone who stopped by.

We are saddened to share the passing of Kurt Jorgensen, a longtime partner of The Adams Company.

Kurt began working with us in 2010 through Jorgensen Sales and remained an active part of our extended team for many years. From customer visits to gear schools and trade shows, he was a consistent presence in the work we do.

We are grateful for his partnership and the time we shared. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Every gear and shaft starts as bar stock, and improving that first step makes a real difference.

The Adams Company recently installed two new automatic bar-cutting saws to increase capacity at the front end of production. The added capability allows larger ODs and multiple bars to be cut in a single cycle, keeping material moving and helping us deliver more parts, faster.

Gear School 2025 is a wrap, and it was a great two days of learning and shop-floor conversation.

We welcomed more than 40 engineers, buyers, operators, and quality professionals to Dubuque for hands-on instruction, industry-led sessions, and a full tour of our manufacturing facility. From gear fundamentals and machining processes to heat treatment and inspection, the focus stayed practical and grounded in real-world application.

A sincere thank you to Helios Gear Products, KAPP NILES, and Advanced Heat Treat Corp. for sharing their expertise and real-world experience throughout the program. Thanks as well to everyone who attended and brought thoughtful questions and discussion to the floor.
