Industrial Kinetics, Inc. will be closed on Monday, May 25th to allow our team to properly observe this important day that honors and mourns the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

Our employees work hard every day, and we believe in the importance of taking time to recharge with family and friends while paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We're proud of our dedicated team and grateful for all they do.

We'll resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 26th.

Have a safe and restful Memorial Day!

Come see Industrial Kinetics at Automate 2026 in Chicago!

Stop by booth #1979 and let’s talk about how we can help streamline your pallet handling process with our automated load stackers.

The key benefits of our fork-style and lift & hold load stackers include:

• Increased productivity - double stacked loads means more product can be inventoried or shipped by a single forklift.

• Decreased product damage due to precise stacking and reduced handling by forklifts.

A conveyor spec can look right on paper and still shut your line down.

CDLR and drag chain conveyors get treated as interchangeable. They're not.

The difference isn't just mechanical. It's about what your pallets actually look like, how heavy the loads are, and what the line needs to do next.

Controlled accumulation before a stretch wrapper or AS/RS? CDLR earns its place.

Long straight runs with heavy, inconsistent, or damaged pallets? Drag chain handles it better.

The new Industrial Kinetics blog walks through how pallet condition, load weight, flow requirements, and maintenance access all shape the call — and why getting this wrong early costs more than the conveyor itself.

When products are heavy, hot, unstable, or hard to support, a slat conveyor often solves problems that standard conveyor styles can't. It uses connected slats mounted to chains, creating a solid conveying surface that keeps loads stable and moving in a controlled way.

That design brings a few important advantages. Slat conveyors handle tough duty cycles well, support awkward or rigid products, and provide positive movement through assembly, processing, or transfer points. They're also well suited for environments where impact, heat, or load variation would shorten the life of lighter-duty equipment.

You'll often see slat conveyors used in automotive assembly, heavy manufacturing, finishing lines, appliance production, and other operations where product stability matters to overall line performance. They are especially useful when the conveyor must do more than just move product. It needs to support throughput, protect product orientation, and stay reliable under real operating conditions.

A slat conveyor isn't just a way to move product from one point to another. It is part of a larger production strategy, which is why the real value comes from engineered conveyor solutions built around the application, the operating environment, and the performance demands of the system.

Minutes after the NCAA brackets were turned in, the team at Industrial Kinetics gathered on the shop floor for a lunch of homemade wings, fries, sides, and desserts.

People from across the company, all in one place. Talking, laughing, catching up, enjoying delicious food together.

Then it moved to the court and the competition was fierce. 🏀

A three-point contest. A fast-paced game of knockout. A little competition to settle things for the year.

The winners earned prizes and bragging rights that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Now we wait to see who wins NCAA bracket competition. 🏆

Recently our CNC operator, Luis Salgado, built a Python-based system to track die and tool usage.

He used ChatGPT to make it happen.

No formal project.
No request submitted.
Just a problem he deals with every day and a decision to fix it.

One software tool in that suite of software tools that he built took a task that used to take an hour and reduced it to five minutes or less. That's huge!

That’s innovation at Industrial Kinetics.

It shows up everywhere. On the shop floor. In engineering. In the small, practical improvements that improve quality, reduce waste, or increase production capacity.

And it’s encouraged.

Employees are recognized and incentivized for using AI to create innovative solutions to problems they may face.

From company president, George Huber III’s office to the shop floor, the use of AI is something we actively support. People are trusted to explore it, apply it, and build with it.

The barrier to creating useful software has dropped. Someone close to the work can now build tools that actually solve it.

That changes what’s possible.

At IKI, people are trusted to see opportunities and act on them.

See the problem.
Take ownership.
Build something that works.

That’s what innovation looks like when it’s part of how you operate.

We’ve launched a new Industrial Kinetics website. 🎉

The goal was simple: make it easier for engineers, integrators, and plant teams to evaluate conveyor solutions without having to request basic information first.

One of the biggest improvements appears on the product pages.

Each product page now includes a clearer structure designed to help visitors understand equipment capabilities faster:

• Overview explaining the purpose of the conveyor and where it is typically used
• Detailed specifications that outline the mechanical configuration
• Controls information describing available control architectures and integration options
• Load capacities and options to help evaluate application fit
• High-quality product images that show the equipment clearly
• FAQ sections addressing common design and application questions

We also significantly expanded the amount of content on the site. Many pages now include deeper explanations of conveyor functionality, system integration considerations, and configuration options.

For system integrators, plant engineers, and operations teams researching conveyor systems, the goal is a faster path from initial research to informed discussion.

Take a look at the new site and let us know what you think - iki.com!

The biggest delays in a pallet conveyor project usually don’t come from the equipment.

They come from the installation.

Incorrectly wired motors. Field-mounted components. Hours spent aligning sections while the rest of the automation system waits to start commissioning.

That’s one reason Chain Driven Live Roller (CDLR) conveyors from IK remain a go-to choice in heavy pallet handling systems.

CDLR uses a positive roller-to-roller chain drive, making it well suited for heavy pallets, racks, and environments where debris, oil, or dirt would cause friction-driven conveyors to struggle.

But design is only half the equation.

When conveyors ship fully assembled and factory prewired, installers spend less time building equipment and more time connecting the system. Sections align faster. Controls integration moves quicker. Commissioning risk drops.

For integrators and plant teams, that difference shows up as shorter startup windows and fewer surprises on the floor.

Designing the conveyor is important.

Designing how it arrives on the floor is just as critical.

Industrial Kinetics employees, Mary Crewse and Scott Blaszak devoted a combined 50 years of service to our company, with Mary serving the accounting department for 36 years and Scott for 14. Throughout their careers, both were trusted professionals whose dedication, integrity, and steady presence shaped the company in lasting ways.

On the evening of January 29, colleagues gathered to celebrate their retirements and honor this milestone. The event brought together coworkers to share a catered meal, reflect on accomplishments, and reconnect over many shared memories. The evening carried special meaning through heartfelt remarks from Scott’s and Mary’s adult children, offering a personal glimpse into the impact their parents’ work had beyond the office.

The celebration continued with words from Engineering Manager Tony Carcione, Company President George Huber III, and company co-founder Marianne Huber, each sharing stories and expressing their appreciation in a more personal way. Their comments reflected the respect and gratitude felt across the company.

Mary and Scott leave behind a meaningful legacy. They will be missed, and the impact they had on Industrial Kinetics remains deeply recognized and sincerely appreciated.
