Newer Mobile Mixers are not like the older generations of volumetric trucks where the operator had to manually control the water, stone, sand, cement, and admixtures throughout the pour.
Today’s equipment: like ours, is digitally calibrated and controlled, allowing the mix design to be dialed in with much greater consistency. The truck meters the materials as the concrete is produced on-site, helping maintain accuracy from the first yard to the last.

That means fresher concrete, better control, less waste, and the ability to adjust when the job calls for it.

At Quick Mix Concrete, our line pump mixes are designed with pumpability in mind from the start. We use #89 stone and 100% natural sand for our aggregates, not oversized stone or overly coarse manufactured sand that can make a mix harder to pump and finish.
Natural sand has a more rounded particle shape and better gradation, which helps the concrete move smoother through the line pump, reduce pumping issues, and create a more workable mix on-site.

When you’re pumping concrete, the mix design matters. The right aggregate package can make the difference between a smooth pour and a frustrating one.

Summer heat can make concrete set up fast, so we adjust our mix designs accordingly. ☀️
During summer months of hot weather, we include a hydration stabilizer in our mix to help control the hydration process and give the crew a better finishing window. In simple terms, it helps slow down how quickly the cement reacts with water, which can reduce the risk of the mix getting away from you too fast on a hot day.

That means better workability, more consistent placement, and a smoother finish when Georgia heat is working against you.

When temperatures climb, concrete can lose slump faster, set quicker, and become harder to place and finish properly. That is why the right admixture strategy matters.
Hydration stabilizers are sometimes confused with traditional retarders. They do slow down the hydration process, so they can act like a retarder, but they are not exactly the same thing. A standard retarder mainly delays set time. A hydration stabilizer gives more controlled management of the cement hydration reaction, helping preserve workability and giving crews more time when heat, or job-site delays are a factor.

Used properly, hydration stabilizers help keep concrete more manageable in hot weather without compromising the goal: quality concrete placed and finished the right way.
