Bringing pattern laser innovation closer to eye care professionals in Guatemala 🇬🇹⁣

Last week, Mariana Molero, Medilex Sales Manager, joined members of our team to visit practices across Guatemala and provide hands-on demonstrations of the NORLASE® LYNX™ Pattern LIO and ECHO® Pattern Laser.⁣

During each visit, specialists experienced two approaches to portable pattern laser technology: LYNX integrates pattern scanning into a laser indirect ophthalmoscope, while ECHO attaches directly to a compatible slit lamp.⁣

Both systems are designed to bring greater mobility, flexibility, and efficiency to ophthalmological laser procedures.⁣

As a Norlase distributor, Medilex is proud to bring innovative technology closer to practices throughout the region, supported by local expertise and personalized guidance.⁣

Thank you to every professional who welcomed our team.⁣

Would you like to experience LYNX and ECHO at your practice? Contact us to schedule a demonstration.⁣

One small accessory plays a big role in every IOP measurement.

Accuracy matters.

So does patient safety.

Every Tono-Pen AVIA® measurement should be performed using a new Ocu-Film®+ Tip Cover.

These single-use tip covers help protect both the patient and the transducer while reducing the risk of cross-contamination. Reichert specifically recommends using a fresh Ocu-Film®+ cover for every examination.

Good infection control isn't just about following protocols.

It's about building confidence—for your patients and your clinical team.

Small details make a big difference.

How does your clinic approach infection control during tonometry? 💬 Tell us in the comments or send us a DM if you'd like more information about the Tono-Pen AVIA and Ocu-Film®+ Tip Covers.

Seeing is not the same as understanding.⁣

On August 12, the solar eclipse will change the way millions of people see the sky.⁣

For ophthalmologists, it is also an opportunity to think about something much closer to home: what happens when intense light affects the retina?⁣

Photic maculopathy can produce subtle changes in the fovea and outer retinal layers. And when a patient reports a central spot or visual distortion, the clinical question is not simply what the patient sees.⁣

It is what the retina can reveal.⁣

CIRRUS HD-OCT provides high-definition structural imaging of the retina, helping clinicians examine subtle retinal changes in detail. With CIRRUS 6000, high-speed acquisition at up to 100,000 scans per second enables OCT cube scans in as little as 0.4 seconds.⁣

But one image can tell only part of the story.⁣

ZEISS CLARUS 700 adds a multimodal perspective, combining True Color, fundus autofluorescence, infrared and fluorescein angiography with high-resolution imaging from the macula to the far periphery.⁣

Through ZEISS Retina Workplace, multimodal retinal images from CLARUS and CIRRUS can be reviewed together to help capture the breadth and depth of retinal pathology.⁣

Because sometimes, the difference is not in what you look at.⁣ It is in how you see it.

And remember: there is always more to see.⁣

Three congresses in five weeks. They are not interchangeable.⁣

**ESCRS London (11–15 Sept)**: cataract and refractive surgery at scale. With more than 15,000 delegates, it's where many of the year's most relevant updates in IOLs, biometry, femtosecond technology and surgical workflow are presented.⁣

**EURETINA Vienna (1–4 Oct)**: a dedicated retina meeting focused on medical and surgical retina, imaging and AI. Especially valuable if you're developing or expanding a retina service.⁣

**AAO New Orleans (9–12 Oct)**: the broadest meeting of the three. Eight Subspecialty Days, a comprehensive scientific program and one of the largest ophthalmic exhibition halls. It is also the most accessible option for many ophthalmologists across the Caribbean and Central America.⁣

Medilex will be at all three.⁣

Planning to attend? Tell us what you're looking to evaluate, and we'll help you prioritize the sessions, technologies and exhibitors most relevant to your practice.⁣
