Where thoughtful design creates meaningful impact.
At the Ohana Center for Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health in Monterey, CA, every detail is centered around connection to nature, community, and healing. This outpatient campus blends materials such as glass and timber with the landscape to create a space that feels open, calming, and welcoming from the moment you arrive.
The use of Kirlin’s 6” Ligature and Vandal Resistant Downlights support that vision with soft, secure illumination in patient rooms and critical spaces, enhancing visibility while complementing the architectural beauty.
Even behind the scenes, materials matter. With these fixtures being Declare Red List approved, this project reflects a growing commitment to material transparency and sustainability, supporting environments that care for patients in every sense.
This space is designed to reduce stigma, support families, and be a place of belonging, because in behavioral health, how a space feels goes hand in hand with how it performs.
