How easy will this fixture be to maintain 10, 15, or 25 years from now?

That’s a question every lighting designer, engineer, contractor, and facility team should be able to answer before a fixture is ever installed.

That’s why we’ve introduced Maintenance Levels. On the first page of the qualifying Kirlin specification sheets, Maintenance Levels clearly identify the tools required to maintain LED modules and drivers. This makes it easier to evaluate long-term serviceability during specification and throughout the life of the project.

By helping facilities maintain fixtures rather than replace them prematurely, Maintenance Levels support lower lifecycle costs and reduce waste, thereby making lighting systems more sustainable.

Tomorrow is National Baby Day! In this Made by Kirlin video, we’re sharing how INFRALED PRO supports babies in the NICU who need extra care at the start of their journey. With National Baby Day right around the corner, we’re sharing a project where we got creative with INFRALED PRO to create a space that supports clinicians and ensures babies get the best care possible!

At Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, the NICU exam lighting needed to do two things well: protect sensitive eyes and give clinicians control and quality light.

By pairing the PRO 25 light engine with the trim and motorized gimbal assembly from the INFRALED PRO 45, we took a hybrid approach to provide clinicians with the output and tilt angles needed to illuminate the patient perfectly, without ceiling obstructions getting in the way.

To make sure babies are comfortable during bath time, each NICU room also includes a 9″ warming light above the sink, adding warmth where it matters during routine tasks.

This project is a good example of how small adjustments in output, optics, and aiming can make a real difference in neonatal care, supporting both patient safety and staff performance. A huge thank you to Cannon Design for working with us on this amazing project!

From fun activities to shadowing their parents, this year’s Take Your Kid to Work Day is a day to remember!

Last Thursday, the youngest members of the Kirlin family came to our Detroit headquarters to see what we’re all about. The kids not only got to see what their parents do, but they also got to see the factory where the magic happens, learn what goes into building a light, and even craft a light of their own!

A big thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Your Kid to Work Day. We can hardly wait for all the fun we’ll have next year!
