Colorado’s new dredge and fill program is now in effect, and many floodplain and stormwater professionals are navigating what these changes mean for their projects. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), in partnership with Wright Water Engineers and Noah Greenberg, is offering a training session focused on Colorado’s Dredge and Fill Program and wetland permitting requirements.

Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Format: Hybrid (attend virtually or in person)
Location: CDPHE Campus (4300 Cherry Creek South Drive in Denver)
Cost: Free

Topics will include:

Identifying state waters
Activities requiring authorization
Permit requirements and processes
Mitigation requirements
Practical considerations for project planning and design

This training may be particularly valuable for engineers, floodplain managers, stormwater professionals, local governments, and others working on projects that may affect wetlands or state waters.

Please join WWE in congratulating Michael Ankner, one of two people selected to represent Colorado in the Western Governor’s Leadership Institute! The Western Governors’ Leadership Institute recognizes, rewards, and promotes the effective exercise of leadership by young adults across the West. Every year, the foundation selects young adults to represent their states, territories, and tribes as institute delegates.

Michael will attend a one-day leadership development forum in Park City, Utah, in late June that will feature intimate conversations with Governors, chief executive officers, and other prominent thought leaders. After the forum, Michael will also attend the Annual Meeting of the Western Governors’ Association as a guest of the Western Governors’ Foundation. WWE’s Jonah Howe attended the 2026 Club Meeting hosted by the Trails Preservation Alliance in Grand Junction, CO, to watch Jeff Deeney of the Northern Colorado Trail Riders (NCTR) present on the Grizzly-Helena Trail Bridge project. Jonah and Scott Schreiber of WWE, along with Scott Gordon of Contour Logic, provided the NCTR with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, conceptual design alternatives, and construction cost estimates for three trail bridges along the Grizzly-Helena Trail near Walden, CO.
