A Message From Our Owner:
Several years ago, for family reasons, I left a profession that I loved. I went to work with my Dad in the used construction equipment business. I was new to it but not to new as I was a 3rd generation equipment guy. My grandfather, Clyde Waddle, opened the first John Deere dealership in Collin County.
I had to create my own niche or market to make it work. So I started marketing equipment on the internet. I was one of the first independent dealers to do so and even had other dealers contacting me to learn how to do it. I have sold equipment all over the world including Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Vietnam, Korea, South America, Canada, the Middle East, and Holland just to name a few.
In 2019, I received life changing news that my sister, Mandy Dirickson, was in a fight for her life. There was no question that I wanted to be there for her in any way possible.
Being the one in the family that could work anywhere on the road as long as I had my phone and computer, I began taking my sister to her appointments. By the way, I sold a motor grader standing in the exercise yard at Alcatraz one time. Anyway, taking her was easy at first as I could drop her off and go to a Starbucks or stay in my truck. But as time went by, she needed my help and I wanted to go in with her. It was not easy keeping a business running. Thankfully, I had the help and support of my operations manager, Cleo Armstead to help. We started working together in 2017 and she is the best business decision I ever made. Being a Millennial, she brought a whole new perspective of operations and marketing. And of course, thank you Laura Waddle for your support.
Mandy passed away in May of last year and I lost a lot of my âwhyâ. I would not trade our time together that we shared the last few years. I feel so fortunate to have had a business that allowed me to be so flexible.
Now, to the point, I have decided to close Cross Timbers Equipment and concentrate on my marketing business. The last few years took the wind out of my sails and it is time to move forward and go find happiness with a new challenge. Also, I came to the conclusion that if you want to succeed, there cannot be a Plan B. I would like to thank those who supported me the most including my Mom, mentors, and close friends. I would also like to thank my brother in law, Tom along with Will Dirickson, Hannah Hansen, and Benjamin Dirickson for your support especially the last several months.
If you read this post this far, thank you! Have a great day!
