How do you build a sustainable, high-performance cold storage facility that directly fights food insecurity?

We are proud to see Kingspan Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) playing a vital role in the brand-new 58,000-square-foot cooler and freezer facility for the Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, Colorado.

Serving the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous U.S. (across Colorado and Wyoming), the organization urgently needed to expand its capacity to store and distribute perishable goods to communities in need.

Here is how the project came together:

- The Scale: A massive 58,000 sq. ft. facility featuring 20,000 sq. ft. of freezer space and 30,000 sq. ft. of cooler space, built 29 feet tall to maximize storage volume.

- The Building Envelope: Industrial Refrigeration & Design, Inc. selected Kingspan’s QuadCore KS Shadowline and KS Shadowline Interior panels to deliver exceptional thermal performance, continuous insulation, and reduced thermal bridging.
