Role Profile:
Seeking experienced Intermediate & Senior I&E Designers to lead instrumentation and electrical design for oil & gas projects through FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction support, and commissioning. The role requires strong technical expertise in hazardous-area applications, PLC/DCS/SCADA interfaces, electrical power systems, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead I&E design activities across project phases (FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction support, pre-commissioning and commissioning).
Promotes safety, quality and lessons learnt for projects.
Support and provide input into the development of proposals.
Mentor junior designers/drafters and coordinate with procurement, construction and client teams.
Maintain design change control, QA/QC reviews, as-built documentation and O&M manuals.
Produce and review deliverables: P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, loop diagrams, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, termination matrices, junction box and panel layouts, and BOMs.
Perform electrical calculations: short-circuit, protective device coordination, load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, motor starting, grounding/earthing and lightning protection.
Specify field instruments, analyzers, flowmeters, transmitters, control valves/actuators, RTUs/PLCs/DCS interfaces, and explosion-proof/intrinsically safe equipment.
Implement hazardous-area classification (ATEX/IECEx/NEC Class/Division) requirements and specify enclosures, purge systems and cable glands.
Develop I/O mapping, control narratives, loop diagrams and interface matrices for PLC/DCS/SCADA, including HART/Fieldbus/Modbus/Ethernet networks.
Prepare technical requisitions, evaluate vendor datasheets, review vendor drawings and support FAT/SAT activities.
Coordinate with process, mechanical, structural and civil disciplines on routing, supports and layout.
Support HAZOP, LOPA and SIL activities; recommend SIF instrumentation and participate in SIL verification/testing.
Provide construction and commissioning support: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, witness factory tests and troubleshoot start-up issues.
In partnering with Process, prepare instrument datasheets for pressure, temperature, level, flow transmitters and actuated valves and select appropriate technology for the application.
Perform infrastructure design (wiring, cables and associated hardware) of DCS, ESD, BMS, FGS, general-purpose PLCs and analyzer systems.
Capable of designing pneumatic, hydraulic and relay controls for specific applications.
Perform panel design for the above systems; develop material specifications to support procurement activities.
Conduct vendor offer reviews and technical bid evaluations (TBE) for equipment.
Support functional safety studies including HAZOP, LOPA and SIL verification for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
