Here's something that surprises a lot of customers: batteries that struggle in fall and winter usually got damaged back in July and August. Alabama summer heat accelerates the internal corrosion inside a battery, and the cold is just what finally reveals the weakness.

A battery typically lasts 3-5 years. Warning signs it's on its way out:

🔑 Key Fob Battery Dead? Don’t Panic!

Many keyless vehicles have a backup method to start the engine when your fob battery dies.

Try holding the fob against the Start/Stop button or placing it in the vehicle’s designated backup spot. Depending on the make and model, it may be in the center console, cup holder, steering column, or glove box area.

Check your owner’s manual to find the exact location for your vehicle.

Here's a fall car care detail most people miss: tire pressure drops roughly 1 PSI for every 10°F the temperature falls. As Decatur's overnight lows start dipping into the 60s, tires that were properly inflated in August are already running a little low.

Underinflated tires wear unevenly on the outer edges, hurt fuel economy by up to 3%, and take longer to stop in wet weather. The fix takes two minutes — check your PSI against the number on the sticker inside your driver's door (not the number printed on the tire itself, that's the max, not the recommendation).
